I shoot a right handed bow and was told a long time ago that I should shoot left wing feathers...
Should I shoot left or right or does it not matter???
It doesn't matter.
This topic of left and right is completely null and void with modern equipment.
If I recall correctly, back in the day when bowmen shot off the knuckles, a right handed shooter had to use LEFT wing feathers, because as the arrow came off the string, the vanes of the feathers would start to spin, a right wing (causing the arrow to spin to the right) would cause the vane of the hen feather left of the index vane to hit your knuckle as the arrow left the bow. Often, that vane would bury into your hand just like a needle or a nail. Very painful I suspect. Left wing feathers would cause the arrow to spin in such a way that the bare shaft itself would pass by the knuckle, and also that bare shaft of the arrow would pass by the bow/riser...creating in effect, no clearance problems.
So unless you are shooting off your knuckle...it doesn't matter.
