checking in i will beiung getting alot of woodchucks we killed around 100 between me n my dad last year i only got 40-45 this year it may be slow in beginning because we killed all them in out 3 primary feilds i will use a 25-06 topped with a leupold 3-9 vx-ll and rabbits in january after deer season till the season ends

Hey just checking in. I plan to get so coyotes soon. I am moving to eastern Oregon so i will have better hunting. I also have a spring bear tag, not sure if bears count but I hope so.

Hello teammates, I havent been spending much time in the cabin chat lateley. I added an oppossum tonight and hope to add more as the year goes on. Last year I didn't hardly hunt at all, but taking the year off has made me more hungry for this year. I mostly hunt small game and deer. I have an awesome little beagle who loves to hunt. He my dad had a great second season this year, especially after the snow came.

As for the name it's all up to you. As for the hunting i am mainly a waterfowl hunter, but I do the small and upland game as well. I shoot about 40 quail, 15-20 pheasant , and a few rabbits a year. <aybe i step it up a notch for this though.

Hey just checking in. Wild fire season is starting so I am not around much. Haven't shot anything but turkeys recently. As far as a name I don't care what where called as long as we take out some song dogs. Have a good summer and I will check in when I can.

How about BLAST'EM and STACK'EM as a team name since no one else cares. Or if you do put some ideas up.

Those sound like good names. I haven't been on the cabin chat much lateley, we've been working 12 + hour days and I just haven't had time. The farmers around where I live are just starting to cut 1st cut of hay, so hopefully I can add some woodchucks to the team. take care boys.

hey guys just checkin as well..sorry it took so long i've been on a family trip for the past two weeks....11 people in a 34 ft motorhome...man im ready to get out a lone and do some hunting!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry for not checking in as much guys, work has been busy, alot of 12 hour days, and haven't been spending a whole lot of time on the computer. Blastem and Stackem sounds good for a team name. I shot a groundhog at work one day last week, and of course the camera wasn't in the truck. O well, small game season is coming.

I really wish they had added bears and cougars to the list. I asked in the beggining but the never did. I shot a bear last friday, not huge only 5'5" and 175lbs. I will post a pic later.

With my deer and bear tag filled all I have left is elk and then its coyote time. We need some points.

Good you checked in Hilljack, My dad and I saw a nice big coyote along the road the other week while we were at work, but of course we were in the dump truck. Our small game season starts in another month or so, so hopefully I can add a few points.

So I see coyotes every day and almost got a shot on one. Usually I am in my work truck though. Going out on Monday all day after them so I hope to get something soon.

We should be getting 25 points from my hunt yesterday. I messed up the photo on a rabbit so no points for that.

So I have 70 points once the process the photos. Great small game hunting. I missed a coyote today at 350 yards. The wind was blowing pretty strong.

Looks like you've been the only member of our team doing anygood Hilljack. Are those jack rabbits and if so, what gun do you use? Our rabbit season just came in last saturday, but the weather really hasn't been the greatest, plus the beagle wasn't feeling too well. He's all better now and the weather looks better for hunting, so Hopefully tomorrow of saturday we'l finally get to go. Take care, Scott

Yeah most of them are Jackrabbits. They are easy to hunt with the 12 gauge. I have only got one cottontail so far. I added a coyote from friday and am about to go out again. Finally got them coming in when I only do rabbit distress. The new foxpro is working great. I missed a second coyote on friday but I think I will do better tonight.

Well I had a couple weeks off with the family now its back to hunting. Going out on Wed. for jackrabbits and who knows what else I hope to take 20 at least.

Came up short with only 18 rabbits but a nice 90 points.

Where is everyone, all I see is my posts on here. We have a fighting chance at this thing. I am going out on a coyote camping trip this weekend so I hope I have lots of animals to post. Next week my favorite coyote rifle returns home after getting a new barrel. I am pumped.

Called in 7 coyotes today. Hit one but no luck running him down after. Followed the blood for a mile. Only shot at one other and it was almost in defense it came from behind me and jumped off the rock I was sitting on. Scared me to death and I just fired at it.

Hilljack, sounds like you've been doing pretty well. We just had 2 weeks of rifle deer season in PA, but I think small game starts up again in a week or so and lasts into February sometime. Thats when dad and I always do most of our small game stuff. Hopefully one of these days I'll be able to add some to our team total.
What is that favorite rifle for coyotes that you use?

I have a Ruger M77MarkII with bull barrell that is extremely accurate.

HAHA, maybe if the rain lets up I can get out tomorrow or if I am real lucky it will turn back to snow.

On hold now that the new year has started until my license arrives in the mail. I can't stand all this fresh snow and no hunting. Does anybody from the team still check this other than backhoe. All we need is a couple points from each of you to get in this thing. I still have lots of predators to hunt and in a couple months the ground squirrels will be coming out so lots of points there.

This weather we've been getting has kind of ruined our small game hunting. It's been almost 70 for the last 2 days and got rid of all of our snow. Before that, Dad and my beagle got 3 bunnies. I picked up a new 22 Magnum friday and was looking forward to taking it out this week. Hopefully it will start acting like January weather again and we'll get some snow so we can get the dog out some more. Our small game lasts for a month yet, so hopefully we can do some good. Keep up the good work Hilljack.

I will try but I am waiting on my license. I have a lifetime and had to change my residency status back to Idaho resident and that meant waiting until Jan. 7th. No its just a matter of time before it shows up in the mail. If I am lucky it will be tonight and I will be out tomorrow.

Added 16 points and will be trying for more this week.

Put another 10 on the board. Hard hunting and not a lot of time to get after them. I have all next weekend to hunt though and plan on getting some real points. I am shooting for 200 on the weekend. Went out last Monday and had problems with the law. Seems when I registered my truck the put the wrong color down. So the sherrif runs the plate and it comes back belonging to a different color truck. Add the fact I am armed and have a chest freezer I was droping at the dump later and you get a real interesting situation. But once he checked the vin number and looked in the freezer everything was ok and he let me go. Bad part I wasted 2 hours because we had to drive back to an area where his radio worked. Scratch that day.

How much longer can you guys still hunt Hilljack? Our small game season ended last saturday, and wasn't able to get anything. Dad and the dog and I went out about 4 times the last 2 weeks of season and couldn't even jump a rabbitt. Sucks. We're going to try for critters if this weather keeps up, hopefully I can add a point or 2. Keep up the good work, I wonder if the other guys forgot about this?

Fox, coyote, jackrabbit are open all year and the ground squirrels will start showing up soon as the snow melts. Basically I can hunt something year round. Been trying for a cougar but they closed all the units around me. Had one in my sights but couldn't tell the sex. Starting tom. I am hunting 4 days straight for coyotes and such. Wish me luck.

So now would be a good time for someone on the team to remember they have photos of lots of small game they have been saving till the end.
