I started using the sonic heads last season and love the target performance. I have yet to launch one at a deer. Anybody used these to take a deer? If so, how did they perform???

I never shot anything but boards anc cement blocks with them. I got 2 free ones from them. They are ok I am still not crazy about th eblades but I love the way they fly. The pro model seems to be the best out there. It has a bigger collar and is stronger.

I got 2 for free from the company this year . All the guys over at Archerytalk tested them on other things . I killed 2 deer with em . i like the way they fly left a great blood trail with both heads . It's like any other BH if you hit em right they will die right and bleed right also

Were your heads the ones with 1" or 1.25" cutting diameter?
NY Bowhunter22
One was 7/8 and the other was 1 inch I believe correct me if Im wrong Maryland

7/8 and 1 inch is correct . I really liked the heads . You would think that they would not put a big hole . But I was suprised on how big the holes were in the deer that I had shot with the 2 heads .

Yeah they make a nice hole in the 2x4 and ply wood too. The first one I got was the 7/8 and it wasnt that durable but the 1 inch model was great. I think I may still have it I will try to get some pics if I do. It held up to 3 shots on the cement block before I quit shooting it. The other didnt even hold up to 2 shots one on a 2x4 and the other on a piece of 1/4 inch plywood.

That makes me feel better about using heads with a smaller diameter. Since I havent shot a deer with them yet, I had been worried about how they would do on game. I used thunderhead 125's for several years and took a few deer with them with excellent results. I switched to the sonics because of being able to have the same zero with both field tips and braodheads. Since I started using the sonics, my field tips hit exactly with my broadheads and that's no gimmic. I only shoot a few broadhead shots every now and then just to reassure myself. I really enjoy being able to practice with the field tips most of the time, and that really saves on the target end.

I USED THE 75 GRAIN A COUPLE YEARS AGO .LIKED THE WAY THEY SHOT AND I KILLED A DOE WITH THEM. I CANT SAY TO MUCH ABOUT THE BLOOD TRAIL,CUZ WHEN I SHOT SHE WAS EVER SO SLITELY QUATERD TO ME AND WHEN I SHOT SHE SPUN TOWARDS ME AND I HIT STRAIGHT ON FACEING HER IN THE NECK DEAD CENTER ,DROPED HER IN HER TRACKS,NOT WHAT I HAD IN MIND BUT EFFECTIVE..... dry.gif
