To submit an entry, a participant must include in the 06-07 CC Forum Deer Contest - ENTRY THREAD thread...
- your screen name
- length of beard,and spurs
- not mandatory but if possible include your team name to help me out.

Photo's required are...
- a photo of himself/herself with the turkey,and a piece of paper with the date on it.
- photo of each spur with measurement(refer to entry rules)
-photo of beard length with measurement(refer to entry rules)

You will need to post the url code,and that will give us a link to the photo.

thc you shorted youself 1/8" on the beard it is 8 5/8"

strut56 you did too your beard is 9 3/8,but the spurs are 13/16"

Thanks Randolph. I thought I had....but wasn't sure about how you wanted the beard measured. I've always gone behind the skin to the actual base. To make sure I wasn't fudging I tried to stick with visable beard. But....yes...you're right and thanks!!

Here's # 4 on the year. Please let me know if I need to measure the spurs again, I noticed in one of the pictures you cannot see the base of the spur-it's the correct length, I just know how some will question it. Thanks.

I can see it southernstrut56,one of those spurs is 1 1/8" not 1 1/16".....And I can see the beginning of the tape measurer on dwood3's beard pic as well.

rrudder4 I can see the beard is 11.5 in the first pic.I come up with 1 1/8" on both spurs,but I'll double check.

Here is pics of an Osceola gobbler I killed on 3/22/07 in Ocala National Forest. You can't see the date on the paper that is laying on the gobbler but you can see the date laying next to the gobbler while I am taking a picture of his spur, 3/22.

I'm just going off what I can see from the pic showing the entire length of the tape measurer.

Don't know if the measurements will be allowed but here goes. Opening morning Rio.

Beard is actually 8 3/4". The pic showing the base of tape at neck was blurred(unwittingly deleted now) and this pic makes it look longer. Blew half of it off with shot. Right spur is 1 1/8" and left is 1". I think I measured them wrong also. If this bird is accepted, fine, if not, I apologize to my team mates. Oh yeah, killed opening morning March 31st.

Finally got time to post. I killed this on last Thursday morning, April 5th.

B-Mobile turkey! Upon seeing B-Mobile, he ran the last 30 yards and was about to punt B-Mobile and I laid him out with some Nitro 4x5x7 Hevi's!

Hey Randolph Cox. I just joined today. I took a turkey Tuesday I would love to enter in your contest but the pics with the tape will be impossible now as he is already gone to the taxidermy man. I can however send you either by mail or email a copy of the score sheet my area DNR man filled out. This bird is going to be the newest addition to the Alabama record book at number nine. I can give you the details if you want. I have pics of the beards and me holding the turkey that I could send. But all I have for offical measurments if the nwtf score sheet.

Yea, like I said, I had trouble with the beard. It would not lay down flat and I could not get the pic right. I entered it in a contest locally and it measured 10 1/16". But, that's the way it goes!

I'm done! Bird # 5 on the year. My father and I hunted this bird for 2 weeks! He only gobbled 2-3 times on the roost, never gobbled on the ground. I had him at 10 steps two Sundays ago (he came in silent behind me), had him at 30 yards this Easter Sunday (I was on my belly crawling towards him and a hen saw me at 5 ft.), finally shot him yesterday afternoon at 6:20. I nicknamed him Spook because he was so cautious and "spooky" of everything. I've never hunted a bird that I couldn't get to respond to calling at one time or another; well, he responded to me yesterday by simply scratching the leaves, brush around me-simply amazing. I could go on and on about this bird-in a way, I'm kind of sad that it's over.

Randolph, I'll let you judge the measurements. I have one beard at 10 3/4; the second at 4. I have one spur at 1 3/8 and the other one a little longer than that. I took plenty of pix so there wouldn't be a descrepancy.
