I'm going to look at a new turkey gun next week & it's up between the supernova & the 870. What do you guys think????

Remington is American made and will do the job...All my firearms are made in the USA and I own a model 870 and have no complaints

I was in the same senario as you were about a year ago. I went with the 870!

I own 2 870s myself.
-870 Wingmaster LW Magnum 20 Gauge
-870 Express Magnum 12 Gauge Combo

Our family all together owns 4 870s, 3 Wingmasters and 1 Express.

In my family including Grandparents aunts and uncles and the family listed above. There are about 8 or 9 total. All Wingmasters besides my Express.

Id go with the 870!

Aint ever had no problems with any of them that ive shot! biggrin.gif

I have used the 870 alot and would recomend it but the nova is also an amazing gun!

870 is the way to go got 2 of them

I'd go with the shotgun that fit you best, regardless of company brand. If that shotgun doesn't shoulder well or point for you well, you're wasting your wasting money.Handle the Rem. and Benelli and compare how they feel for you, then decide

it's always good to have options.

Amen to that!

I have two shotguns and am thinking about maybe getting another! But i am not sure yet, before i get another scattergun i want to get a revolver of some sort, Either a Ruger .22 Single Six Stainless with Wooden Grips or a 357 Magnum (Either a Smith And Wesson or a Ruger). Then ill start thinkin about a new scattergun. Even though i already know which one i want! 8)

ted can I take a guess? It is an 870 LOL!

Not exactly, i got all the 870s i want at the moment.

Same maker though!

Remington 11-87 SPS Camo 3 incher with a 26 inch barrel.
Plan on huntin everything with it. Mainly Turkey and Waterfowl though, but it will be used for much more than just those two.
Probably use it to hunt Deer, Gobblers, Coyote, Fox, Ducks, Geese, Crow, and shoot black birds and pidgeons with it around the farm. Hopefully I'll be gettin it here within the next year or so.

For upland hunting, my 870 Wingmaster LW Magnum 20 Gauge seems to do the job. biggrin.gif

We got 1 1100...

Dad had one before i was born, a 1100 12 Gauge Classic Trap, but he sold it.

If he woulda kept it, we woulda had 2.

But thats ok. I love the .410 1100 that we got. Its a nice small game gun, and a fun clay pidgeon gun. smile.gif

I have a hunting buddy that has a 870 rem and it is jamming all the time, it is only about 6 months old and I told him a hundred times to take it back. He is stubborn so is there any pointers as to what he should try next instead of the obvious take it back Thanks all

DUDE GET THE BENELLI, IT MIGHT NOT BE AMERICAN MADE BUT IT IS AN AWESOME GUN!! I will shot my super nova until I die, I use an undertaker choke and Im not afraid to take a sixty yard shot AT ALL!!! But I do use remingtons turkey loads, number 4 shot so what the hay!! It all comes together to make a nice combination, and get the job did!! smile.gif

I had an older 870 that keep doing that. I come to find out it was the ammo. I know thats ounds crazy, but when I changed to different ammo it stopped. So that is my theory! I havent used that ammo anymore and it hasnt jammed since! Thats just a thought!

dum817, first, I wouldn't use a full choke with 00buck. try a imp. cyl. or lite mod. maybe a imp.mod but not a full. if you have tested and got a good pattern then I'm wrong. but when i use BB i get crap pattern with tight chokes and with open chokes i get great.

now to go with the rem. vs. the nova. well I totaly agree with the part about buy AMERICAN but I hate rem. and I love nova's. and the undertaker choke is great. I shoot 3.5 #5s in hevi shot. and I have taken a turkey at 65yrds. and with 3.5 #5 I have killed geese at the same yrds.

now with the thing of american vs. nonamerican. try to find ANYTHING anymore that is fully made and put together in america. it's a bad thing but our gov't has made it too easy for our business to go overseas. and that is realy bad for us.
