So I just bought a Remington 710 30-06 and I absolutely love it. The only thing I can't stand is the cheap looking gray plastic stock. I have a few beautiful rifles in my cabinet and this thing looks awful. Does anyone know of any aftermarket stocks out there. or does anyone here make stocks?

Now where did you hear that? It's no model 700, but the action is just as strong and the barrel is the same as what you'll find on the 700. There are 2 things I've heard about this rifle from everyone that owns one - they're ugly as sin but will shoot with the best of 'em.

The 710's have a lot of problems with the bolt. I had one and everytime I shot the bolt would blow back. I don't know if this has been fixed but I really dont care. If you dont care about having and shooting a well built gun, go for the 710. But for not much more money, you can get a savage combo or something like that.

Are you saying the bolt would open every time you shot? If so, that sounds like a terribly defective gun to me. I've never heard of a bolt rifle blowing the bolt open - or the shooter pulling the trigger - that was still capable of firing another shot.
The few that I've played with had decent-feeling bolts, but the 710s do have a reputation for gumming up rather quickly. If you wipe off the bolt and chamber every 10-20 shots and clean them thoroughly every 50+ shots it should work just fine.
If you've still got that gun and wanna throw it in the trash, gimme a shout...I love to tinker with cheap rifles.
