Shot a limit of ruffles yesterday thought I'd show them off. Man these are the best wild birds there are. Does anybody even hunt them anymore? This has been an outstanding season so far!

I love hunting grouse, it may be my favorite type of hunting overall.(deer hunting and grouse are very close) There is nothing like walking through the woods and flushing up a covey. I see some almost every time i am in the woods .(most of the time walking to my bow stand) The cycle is on the upswing this year. I have got two so far, maybe i'll go out after i get done typing this.
What state do you hunt them?

Up in the hills of Skagit and Whatcom County it is rare NOT to see grouse. Just about everybody I know that hunts started out hunting grouse. I started out grouse hunting and I will probably end with grouse hunting. In 50 years if you see an old man in his 80's who is struggling to walk with a shotgun in his hand and a smile on his face it could be me!

We got em in BC too. They are my absolute favourite thing to hunt. When I can, I try and wingshoot em, but they're godawful hard to hit. I shoot a Remington model 870 Wingmaster in 410 cal.
