I am planning on going hunting with my 2 buddies this hopefully this friday evening and saturday... I dont have alot of money.. and need probably around 50 rounds... per day...So... I was wondering if yall thought it would be worth the time reloading shells for doves... I am pretty sure i have all the stuff (shot, powder, primers, and wads) I know i definitly have shell hulls...I plan on taking the 12 Gauge... I dont know if i should just save my money and buy a case of Winchesters at Wal-Mart or just reload em...
If i do reload em i will probably reload em with 6s or 7 1/2s... 7/8 or 1 ounce...
Any advice?

I'd just buy the shells. Your looking at 4.00 to 5.00 per box and you only need 100 rounds. Plus In my opinion you should use 8 or 9 shot for doves. 6 is too big 7 1/2 will work but not necessary. Take into consideration the time you'll spend loading and the fact you'll lose a lot of the hulls as the shooting is so fast and furious. Plus your running around trying to find the doves you shoot.
When I go I buy the cheapest 8 or 9 shot I can find whether it be target loads or game loads. Cheaper is better for doves as your going to burn a lot of shotshells especially if your a beginner.
Have fun dove hunting is a blast.

I've only been a few times but it is really fun. The first time I went I shot 48 times and only hit 10 birds. Last year I shot about 25 for 8. I usually only go once a year as they seem to wise up pretty fast. I'll tell you what, I've been around the block a few times and have hunted most things that fly. Dove hunting is right up near the top as far as excitement goes.
