Oregon Archer

Ive shot both. Currently Im using the Epic STs. They are a lot more durable than other brands of carbons Ive used in the past. Not quite as durable as the Axis but still a very very tough shaft. Either one will be a good choice.

I've shot Gold Tip's for years. Last Year, I started using the Gold Tip Pro Hunter's, and in my opinion they are the straightes and flattest arrow made. I have broke one arrow, and I shot through the seam of a vital in a 3-D deer target and hit a metal fence post. This year, in August, they were 6-8 weeks on back order and I couldn't wait so I bought a dozen Axis. They are great arrows, and I actually got a little more penetration than I did with the GT's, but they are heavier and have a little more arch than I like. The Gold Tip's will increase speed, and still have more than adequate penetration to kill and elk. Next year I will go back to the GOLD TIP PRO HUNTERS. Best arrow on the market in my book.

Axis are the tougher of the two but they are heavier as well. I'll be shooting Gold Tips.

If you read my earlier post...I recommend AGAINST Gold Tips...one more time...AGAINST Gold Tips...This year they started making them in Mexico...I bought 4 new ones to match my 6 from last year...ALL of the 4 new ones shot in a 3 group BUT 8-9 left...My brother bought 8 new ones...6 of the eight shot 5 left...and my Uncle bought 3 and 1 of his shot consistently 6 right...Last years were good (not that great for penetration) but they were good...
We went with the FMJ's...yes they were $13.00 a piece and are anywhere from 11-15 fps slower, but the penetration (on my block target) is uncomparable...out of 5 shots, 2 buried in a NEW 4x4 Block up to the fletching...
I shot the GT's for 5 years and WILL NEVER shoot another again...
Go with something made by Easton...
