whats a good type of range finder to get..not too expensive but not too cheap either...i have been bow hunting for 5 years and have never used a range finder...i know it would make things soo much easier so i though maybe this year was the time to get a set..plus i just got a new job so i have a little bit more money..

well bushnell and nikon both have very good rangfinders and they are reasonably priced.but just remember you get what you pay for.you wouldnt bye a 800 dollar rifle and the put a 30 dollar scope on it.

I usually pack either my compact steiner's, or my rangefinder. It is hard to carry both and hunt comfortably. I'm going to buy the Leupold 8x bino/rangefinder to combine the two. You can pick them up from Cabelas for about $290 for true ballistic range. Pretty handy.

I always carry both.
Bushnell Elite 10x43 binoculars
Bushnell Yardage Pro 800 rangefinder
I also always carry my 10-20x40 Leupold GoldRing compact spotting scope.
