I was just wondering if the Sims string leeches work all that much better than any other string silencer. I am replacing the string on my bow this spring and figured I would get the Sims ones, right now i just have cat whiskers on and the bow is pretty quiet as it is. I already have limb savers on it which really helped out and was hoping that the leeches would do likewise.

From what I've heard, the string leeches don't really silence any better than the cat whiskers, but they do help maintain your speed. I think the whiskers will slow you down a few FPS, but probably not even noticible to the human eye or your POI. The leeches will not slow you down, at least that's what Sims claims for their Stealth leeches, but they only last 500 or so shots...the whiskers will last much longer.
Granted, this is all hear-say...I've never used the string leeches. Just my $.02.

Hey guys, I tried the stealth string leaches for the first time last year. They were a huge improvement over the whiskers on my pse.Not only are they quieter, but they were noticeably faster.Even if they only last 500 or so shots they pay for themselves.

I was a little confused myself on what kind of silencers to use. I also seen them in a cloth. I wonder how they are?

Arrowsnyper,
If they worked that well on your PSE, I'll have to try them on my ancient Bear! I'm getting some work done on it next week, including a new string, so I'll have them put those on, too....I'll let you know how they do.

That's pretty smart thinking. I think I just ruled out the cloth ones.

I have string leeches and would never be caught without them since changing over. Improved speed and noise reduction is the key for me

the old ones did suck, very bad, shot my bow like maybe 100-150 times (very very dissapointed in SIMS on that one)and they were on the ground, a waste of time and money, the new ones i have no idea how they are ,i would'nt ever try them again...
i have tryed nearly everything out there for silencing the twang of my string, and i will tell you by far the most effective in noise reductuion, was the Bow Jacks, i gaurantee they will outlast leeches..and way cheeper, 5 bucks a box, versus 12 or so bucks for something that will be on the ground before hunting season rolls around, give it a try.
