Alright boys.....lets sound off!

I'm BigT (Travis). I bow hunt and gun hunt, so I've got plenty of time to try and score on a few deer. I live and hunt in Central Illinois, our bow season starts October 1st and ends January 11th I think. We have a split 7 day shotgun season that I will be hunting also.

Lets start kicking around some team names.
Suggestions:

Hey guys..I'm 15 and im a very avid hunter..im usually in the woods everyday from sept 1..(squrrel season) to jan 31( deer bow season) and ive gotten 4 deer..2 of which were last year and plenty of squrrles and rabbits. I'm from Eaton ohio and i will be hunting ohio and Indiana..

Hello team, I hunt in Washington state we get to hunt from Sept 1st to Sept 30th,then Nov 10th to Dec 15th.I will guarantee a 5x5 or bigger this year for the team.I get one every year or bigger.As for the name I like all of them just pick one.I have 17 days to go to get it on

I don't have any one deer pegged for this season, but I probably feel more confident then ever that I will get a shot at a big one this season.

I will be real honest with you fellas. I've never killed a buck that I consider a wall hanger. A trophy to me is something that is going to be progressively bigger than the previous buck. I've killed an 8 point that scored right in the 115 area and that is my largest rack so far. I'm looking this season for a 125 class or better buck.

I've got 4 areas to hunt around here, and one of them my buddy and I have not taken a buck off of in 4 years (let a lot of them walk though), and have taken a good number of does off the property in those same 4 years. Now the trail cam pictures that we are getting although not a bunch of monster bucks, we are seeing a good doe to buck ratio on the property. And there are some good ones on that property. I'm very optimistic about that spot this year.

Just to let you guys know. Here in Illinois, we can shoot 2 bucks per year, and as many does as you want to buy tags for.

I will probably be hunting hard in October and the first week or week and a half in November and then I will have to take a little time off. My wife and I are expecting our third child on or around November 26th. My wife went two weeks early with our last child, and she goes fast!! She was only in labor for two hours last time and it took us an hour and 20 minutes to get ready and make it to the hospital!! That was a little to close for me! So I probably won't do much hunting from the second week of November on through to the first part of December.

But I promise I will have at least a doe down before then.

How does the scoring work?

Last year it was 5 points for a deer, then 1 point for every Inch or longer point on the deers rack. So a doe is the base scorer at 5 points, a 10 point would score 15 points, thats how it was last year at least i havent read to see if its the same this year, i assume it is.

Hello team, I am off to the woods tomorrow yeah it has finally arrived.I have 30+ bucks in the general vicinty, only 2 I would fling an arrow at.The rut maybe a diffrent story here, I am at the base of a mountain to the lowlands.This is when I will see deer I have never seen when the snow begans to fly in the high country.

Thought i would share a few trail cam pics i got last night, this is the first deer i have encountered in hard horn so far, and his buddy is looking pretty nice to me. i love this time of year. Good luck to everyone thats out there hunting now

hey yall.bow season is only in a few days. sept 30th for here in ohio. I ot alot of bucks in my woods that i hunt. its in awesome feeling to have when u always see bucks by the woods when u drive by ur woods. GREAT but yeah good luck to you all.

Finally got out Sat night, saw 5 bucks one doe, no kills but had 4 catch and releases.

Wind will be right tommorow evening , see what happens

yeah thats what my stratdiiges are also..i wanna take a big ol fat doe opening day and do buck huntin later in the year when the rut is on..

Today is our opener and i have a fall break from school through tuesday, maybe i can bring home some points. saw 6 does this morning but they were all around 100 yards, going to a great looking spot this evening

Good job on the doe Campking! I will go out for my first hunt here in the next few days. I was going to go out in the morning for a quick hunt, but the wind is going to be terrible. I would rather wait than screw it up!

ALRIGHT No pics yet they are on a 35mm I will wait till they are gone and post some pics.

Headed out for Sika myself next week for the ML opening three days. Then back at it for the whitetales the following week. I lost a doe last night after the rain cleared out. She turned into the arrow right as I shot. Hit was back and out low on the hind leg. Was unable to find her. And no doubt she is fox bait by now.

I will be out there this coming week after them again.

I probably speak for most but You don't have to justify harvesting an
animal to us.. If you want to shoot it, then shoot it. Glad you had the
opertunity to put some meat in the freezer. Sounds like your hands will
be full for a while best of luck to you and your wife on your new family
addition.

We kick off a 3 day ML here in Md on Thursday, should be able to hunt all 3 days . Hope the weather holds up...

I have got one doe and one spike. The spike is like 1 inch on both sides. I will post pics this week when I get a chance.

You know how it went. It sucked I died three times on that drag. Next time its a yearling or with the cart.

Well... I could have put some points on the board for our team the last couple of nights. I passed so that my boy BOW RAPTOR could take his first deer. It was sooo worth watching that unfold. He took his first doe and shot a buck later. We have to track it tomorrow. BUT.. it's DAD's turn now. Wish me luck on connecting this week.

I missed a 6x2 in Sept passed on 21 bucks in Sept, my season is just starting to get rolling.

Guys don't get mad I have been passing alot of young bucks, still waiting for Mr. Big. Passed a 6, 8 and 9 this past weekend. Just can't drop the hammer quite yet. But I will!!!!!!!!!!!!!
