Dude you need to get down here and go with us rednecks. Opening day of dove season really kicks off hunting season. Its just a month before bow season opens. Opening day there are usually a lot of hunters out there but after that there is still some good shooting to be done and hardly anyone gets back out there. Me and the wife are going to be out there shooting a few this year!! Can't wait!!

I think you have to go below the mason dixon line to find true rednecks

I think that is the kind of truck their Game and Fish officers drive!!
Why would hunters be jumping in the woods??
All you need is permission, a plug, and a license!!

And hope that field you have been invited to shoot is not baited.

when we go dove hunting it's not just one or two of us it's 50-60 people so they have permission. and about driving the truck that looks like a game wardens that was a joke but I have seen people jump in the bushes when one comes, I didn't say I would run I wouldn't have a reason to but some of them will shoot way to many birds and theres no telling what else there doing wrong  plus I couldn't kill to many if I tried

I like to shoot at dove, that's about the one thing I can't hit to save my life.I shot over 300 shells one Thanksgiving, and wound up with 8 birds.
Hey and as far as the game warden coming to the field it's crazy here. You can hunt in a corn field that has been mowed, but you can't sling corn out of the bag??????So,I'd be nervous too they can give you a ticket for about anything if they want to.
When you get that many guys together in a dove field you'll always have someone try something illegal.I have heard of guys trying to shove corn cobs in their guns 'cause they weren't plugged.

The game warden doesn't care what it's plugged with as long as it's plugged.
Ya'll be safe and don't shoot any low birds.

I've always wondered how they can tell if a corn field is baited? like you said theres always acouple that try some thing, I've seen guys bury there birds shove them in there boots, pants, tool box, coke boxes just any thing they can think of

And then they like to take people like me(who can't shoot)so they can put all the birds in a pile, and then the Game Warden counts the doves divides it by 12,and sees if there are more birds than people.I don't like hunting like that, and that's why I haven't been back to that field with those people. They bring everyone they can, give them a gun,and the pro's knock down 30-40 doves each and throw their birds in this pile. They help you get your limit.I'm not with that. That is greedy. But it is fun.

I'm pretty good at shooting waterloo cooner, not necessarily at hitting anything, but I can sure pull the trigger. During a dove hunt I'll leave with a bunch of empty boxes of shells!! And a few birds I hope!!

There is soo many people in the field we hunt in, it sounds like a war is going on lol. I heard it was the best public dove field in south carolina. Dove hunting is a change of pace compared to other hunting. You can talk to people and laugh and stuff instead having to whisper all the time. I cant wait for the season to start!
