To be honest...when the pups are so young..you really can't tell who is going to be the best hunter. I have two females picked out of this litter to keep and I really don't know if they are what I'm looking for or not...ya just can't tell at this age...I've picked them because I think they are cute...they are not pointing yet or anything that would let me know that they are going to be a great bird dog....in my eyes..they are just cute.
One thing that they are starting to show now is the personality...the one female that I picked is laid back and the other is more out going but which one will be the better dog...I have no idea.
I'm with this litter of pups a lot...several times a day I'm in the kennel with them and I can't tell who is the best...and for someone to tell ya that they can pick the winner out of a litter so young is full of themselves.
I hope by the time that I start selling these pups ( around April 15th) that they will be showing their pointing abilities...some pups point early and others it takes just a little longer for them...and that is not to say that the ones that pointed early is any better.
