Sam we do go by the longest strand.But the best I can see it 9 15/16.I zoomed it up,and it doesn't look like it goes all the way.He's a good one.Your score is 67.625.That's the biggest bird entered so far.Congrats!

Randolph, This is the best pic I could get of the weight of the bird. It weighed exactly 20 lbs.

Beard was 9.. and both spurs where 1/2..... and he weighted 20#.

Yes I did it on the NWTF calculator.Here's how I figured it.

weight x 1...(weight..20x1)=20
beard x 2....(beard..9x2)=18
spurs x10 each(left spur .5x10)=5



Your score is 20 + 5 + 5 + 18 = 48

I know that the pictures are a little blurry but my camera sucks. the tom weighed 18 lbs. and had a 9 and 3/4 in. beard with one spur at 3/4 and the other at 5/8

Sorry I didn't get all of the pics that I needed. His total score is 56.6875. I don't think this is big enough to help us out. Maybe I will get lucky enough to get one bigger. Hopefully it will help the team a little.

Sorry about the tag picture. I tried to zoom the other picture of the bird with the tag on it's leg but you couldn't read my name so I shot a picture in my garage this evening on the carcus. Team 13. Merriam's Wt 19 lbs. Beard 8 7/8. R spur 3/4. L spur 3/4. Taken at 27 steps in South Dakota on April 8th at 5:05 PM give or take a few. Also took my Wyoming bird 1 1/2 hrs later less 3/4 of mile from the South Dakota bird. It made for a great opening day

I was invited to go to South Dakota this coming weekend to turkey hunt, but I cant make it... The big dogs of our company will be here at the end if this week and they are taking us out to dinner Fri. night...

The bird I shot yesterday in IN...
weight 21 pounds, spurs 19 mm (.748 in), beard 11 1/4 in





when the bird was checked in, the spurs were 19mm with the syringe looking thing on both sides





I'm guessing around 58 points... (21 + 7.48 + 7.48 + 11.25 x 2)
