Sounds Good!!!

Last two mornings I've seen longbeards in strut near some green fields!!
timberghost6
outstanding.
timberghost6
hardcore, both are cool. I probably like the red one a little more.
2050z
My vote is for the red one
Hardcore
Here are all of them! I will wait till a majority has voted for them. I am adding one more and a redone red one. We do need to keep them small for the sake of everyone else in the forums when we post.

We do need to keep them smaller for the sake of every one in the forum when they open. You guys choose and I will post the link when you decide!
timberghost6
#1 with the turkeys is the outstanding. Really cool
Hardcore
To put the picture in the signature copy the picture and save it to your file. Then up load it to your favorite share site and past the img into the signature  I am glad you guys like them. It is almost dead even on the vote. If you want to use either or and switch during the season I have no problem with it! Just save the ones you will use. We might come up with a new one if we start to score heavy! We will have the best ones! tongue.gif
timberghost6
I'm not saying were gonna win hands down, but i think we have one helluva team! Should be fun. First bird in already and I have a month to go. I've seen some big boys already scouting. One i swear is at least 30 pounds. We'll see if i can bag em.
Steve
Weather is changing here. It's turning cooler with Possible ice/snow Monday Tuesday. Should slow down the turkeys some until the season comes in.

I like our logo.

Good luck all!!!!!!!
timberghost6
So who is our lead off guy?? I start out April 14th.
woodsman2230
So anyone seeing any birds?
timberghost6
I've seen a lot of birds. It seems to me they are still bunched up fairly good. Although I have seen some small groups. They are not gobbling hardcore yet, but i feel very soon.
timberghost6
I still have 3 weeks left and we are gettin nailed with snow right now. I want those boys hot n heavy by the time season rolls around.
2050z
Okay my first hunt is planned for the weekend of the 7th. My original hunt was canceled.
2050z
I've never taken a turkey with my shotgun so what size shot do I need?
Will a modified choke work?

I have taken plenty of turkey with my bow so I want to try something different. I will still use my bow, but I want to take one bird with my old shotgun.

Thanks
stoutk
anything from a 12 to a 20 will work...obviously 12 will reach farther and knock down harder...but within 30 yards you're good to go with a 20...

as far as chokes...get the tightest choke you can find...if you have a full shoot it...if you have an extra full, or an extra extra full even better...if you don't want to spend a fortune on chokes buy a 20 dollar turkey choke from Walmart...undertaker or primos...but you want a really tight choke to shoot at a turkeys head! good luck...

I'm just opposite of you...never taken one with a bow...should be fun trying
Galimbhanger
whats your gun?
2050z
Winchester Ranger Pump 12ga. My dad bought it for me when I turned 18, which was a long time ago biggrin.gif
Galimbhanger
I have a 1300 with a tru-glo choke from wal-mart I shoot Supreme #6s. just shoot a couple diferent shells and see which one has the best pattern. good luck biggrin.gif
2050z
Will do and thanks for the tip.

Also, if you guys have never tried pro ears I would find some and use them this season. I used them last year and boy you can hear the birds from a long ways away.
woodsman2230
I have a Benelli Nova 12 with a H.S. Undertaker choke and TRU-GLO sights. Last year I shot Remington Nitro Loads and they patterned real well...32 hits in turkeys head at 30 yards. This year im gonna try some winchester supreme loads....I heard they pattern awesome.
timberghost6
Anybody hunting this weekend??? I still got a couple weeks.
woodsman2230
My opening day isint until April 29th
timberghost6
I have a countdown goin, 17 days
timberghost6
Do you guys have a pretty healthy bird population in GA?? Either way, that sucks man. Keep after it! 8)
Galimbhanger
We have a bunch in the state but not very many on the 300acres where we were hunting
woodsman2230
I got some good news today! I went scouting this morning and heard one gobbler and he was gobbling a few times on the roost and still when he was on the ground. I then went into the woods to try to find his roost tree and found the biggest strut mark I have ever seen! It was like 30 feet long. I ended up seeing the bird a little later in a field. Its a monster!
timberghost6
Good deal, I'm looking for a monster as well. The bird i shot last year scored around 80. Not record size, but good for a turk with only 1 beard.
woodsman2230
timber, ya man thats a real nice bird....i hope you get that monster you were talkin about this season.
woodsman2230
Ya I think that would work just fine....that jake could be just the trick to get that old bird in close.
timberghost6
Thatta boy GA!! Congrats bud!
2050z
Sweet! We are on the board! Congrats!
Galimbhanger
It scored 54.5 biggrin.gif that will put us on the board anyway laugh.gif
