I do alot of grouse hunting with my trusty 23 year old Stevens Savage 20 gauge. We got alot of grouse up here but their numbers seem to cycle about every 4 or 5 years. Its a good year here tho. I'd probably get more of them if I used a dog, but I think I am pretty good at finding them. if you want info on grouse their is a hunting and conservation organization for ruffed grouse. I can't quite remember the name though.

I've been hunting Pheasant, Quail and Chuckars. Trying to train a new dog
(german shorthair). We have seen alot of Quail and Chuckars. Having alot of fun.

i go pheasent huntin every other weekend and pheasent hunting here is not good unless you have a dog and i have two but there just house dogs. one is a siberian huskie, and the other is a border colly mixed with black lab i would use because he stays with unlike my huskie she would probably kick some birds up but it would be a mile away my lab mix is just tapped in the head he wont know what to do and if we try to have someone train him he would probably bite the * out of him cause he is wicked vishes to people he does not know. but my huskie is wicked friendly.

Not to great for pheasent hunting in massachusetts. But i got one last year and this is my third year huntin pheasent.

Opening day tommorow in Jersey and I cant wait to go out. Will post some pics if I get any birds. Then on sunday I am goin to my hunting club to pheasant hunt. We hunt on semi-wild land. I will definitely have pictures for you guys on sunday.

I've noticed an increase in bird populations also. I haven't done any hunting yet because I am waiting until I tag out on deer or the deer season ends. Yesturday, and this is no lie, I flushed 7 different grouse and this morning 6 on the way to treestands. I've also seen several pheasants. I think they raised and let a bunch of birds loose in my neck of the woods. I gotta get the 870 cleaned up for those birds. Can't wait

yea i did a little hunting down in my home town of maysvile ok. and it was decent but i think i think next year im going up by where you were at but good job on the hunts u hope i can limit out everyday.
