I love this case, because it's quite roomy and can be stuffed with clothes and such to keep your gear from rattling around. My last trip with it I filled it with several small boxes (Christmas presents) and dirty clothes that I didn't have room for in my suitcase. It has 2 rubber rollers that slip over the limbs and screw down so the bow is locked down tight. It also has spots on both lids for 6 arrows each. After the 1st time I flew with it I had arrows everywhere inside the case, but no broken ones. I tied some 550 cord (parachute cord) around 1 side of both rubber arrow holders and made a loop that slips over the other side. This system has held the arrows in place for at least a dozen more trips. It also comes with a small accessory box for broadheads, wax, etc. Pretty handy
As for getting through the airport with the case - American Airlines suggests the case be locked. However, it can't be locked when you hand it off to be scanned. What I've done is give the scanner folks the case and hand them my locks. They scan it, tag it, and put the locks on, all while I watch.
I've never had a problem doing this, except for 1 time when a noobie counter agent tried to call security on me for having a weapon in the airport! Then she tried to tell me that the arrows couldn't travel in the case with the bow, as if it could accidentally go off :? I managed to call the baggage checker folks over to straighten her out, and it was fine after that

The number one advice I can give you is BE POLITE. I was polite when I talked to the land owner and his wife, and that is the biggest reason I got permission to hunt their land. Also, dress sharp when you go to ask permission. You dont have to over due it, but a collared shirt and some khakis would be good. Also, offer to do some work around the house.

Last year I set up unknowingly where a bull couldn't cross a drainage and I also called to much once he was within eyesite.
Not being patient enough after a call.
Rushing a shot and not waiting for the right shot.
In to big of a hurry to get back in to the honey hole and walk past elk in the dark.
Not waiting long enough to figure out where the herd is headed when glassing. Of coarse this has gone the other way as well and I didn't move fast enough.

Actually, I do most of my hunting up in Mountain Home, or at least during gun season. Hate hunting public land with thousands of yahoos that don't know how to shoot. I do hunt Winona and Bell Slough WMAs though. This year I might even get to hunt in Conway city limits if the land owner will let me
1. Even though it is cool to watch a bull come in when your calling for someone else, just suck it up and get back 75-100 yds. You probably wont see the bull, but you will most likly call him into range for the shooter.
2. Dont chase a herd unless there is absolutly no other way. Figure out where they want to go, check the wind, and then get in front of them and put out some sweet cow sounds. This will save you from running yourself ragged all month long!
3. You dont always have to call them in. If you can put a stalk on a bull and never use your calls, do it (especially if you're by yourself). It's not as exiting as having him screaming at you and foaming at the mouth, but it will put meat in the freezer. 0 20457 0 0 0 0 161348 0 2139 cholloway 1 1 199.68.77.225 1124817551 0 Mistakes on Elk?..............hmmmmm........ya know I dont think I've had any.................
I'm new to the forum but some of may have seen my product as need2hunt posted it here. I didn't know about this forum until yesterday when it came up on my website traffic report or I would have been here sooner.
I got tired of my sons rap on his cell phone ringer so I started a company that only provides game animal ringtones.
Within the week we will have 24 hunttones available. They are Elk, Buck Fight, Turkey cutting, Turkey Gobble, Mallard, Goose, Cougar, Pheasant, Quail, Wild Hog, Loon, Barred Owl, Tending grunt, Coyote, Crow, Feeding Turkeys, Yelp with Gobble, Grizzly, Moose, Rattle Snake, Snort Wheeze, Duck Pond, and Whippoorwill.
This means its time to start working on the next round. Our goal is to have a good representation for every animal we hunt in the US.
We'd like your input on what animals/birds or specific sounds to add next? Split Tailed Lounge Doe has already been mentioned.

I was bowhunting the rut in Kansas and watched a small buck walk by and started to walk into the brush about 50 yards away. Then he started backing up because a moster buck was coming out. The big buck started posing to show his dominance and the little one didn't budge. The buck bowled him over and I heard something pop. When the little buck got up his front leg was broken. I tried to get a shot at the big one but it never presented a good shot. I did end up shooting the little one to put him out of his misery. He could barely walk as he came back by my stand. 0 20455 0 0 0 0 161359 0 2371 270sav4deer 1 1 68.73.232.97 1124822876 0 When i hunted down in GA i blasted quite a few dillos..I HATE when i have a skunk around my stand i always get worried its gonna spray and i'll be stuck with smellin them rotten lil buggers

I know these aren't big game animals...but...they are sounds that alot of us hunters enjoy hearing. How about making a ring that sounds like the late winter/early spring frogs..I call them the peepers...we start hearing them in late March/early April in Missouri. And I'd love to hear a whippoorwill..now that I would think would be a seller.
Main reason from what I have read is that you are really looking for shot displacement down range quickly. When steel shot hits other steel shot it will deflect and litterily bounce off eachother while headed downrange, and can be inaccurate.
Don't worry about the range with your Mod tube you will be fine.

I liie a little more shot when some of the birds are down range, and it will make clean up a little less damaging to the birds. I like the HEavySHot but man the price is high. I usually run with Remington Fast Steel.
Shoot'em up and hit a range and find what works best for you and your gun. You will get a ton of different answers on here. Experience with yougear is key.

Welcome! We don't normally encourage new posters to plug their products or services because of abuses of such in the past, but this topic has come up a few times recently, as you obviously noticed with the traffic to your site from here.
That said, welcome to the family! Hope you stick around for a while.
