I was wanting to know how you guys mount your camera to a tree? My camera that I just got (a Multrie Feeder camera) didn't come with any straps, etc. I was thinking that I could go down to the hardware store and buy some thin cable, along with something attached to the cable to able me to buckle or attach together. Along with a cable, I figure I should strap a chain and pad lock for extra security. Anyway, I was looking for some ideas..... Any input is appreciated!

Anytime

... You might want to use something to lock it up . But then if they really want the camera they are going to cut the tree down .

It did not come with anything to mount it to a tree? Thats pretty bad. I guess I would use a bungee or two also....

Wow! Thanks for the tips! I finally got a memory card for it last night and tried it out in the back yard, bungee cording it to the trellis. (getting some pics of the dogs runing around in the backyard) I figure I should get familar with it before I head up in the mountains which will be next weekend. That laser pointer thing is nice as you can see exactly where the camera is aiming.

I bought mine at sportsmans wherehouse and paid $70.00 for it but mine is a 35mm. Stealth cam is the model. It is a cheaper way to go. But I think in the long run you save money with the digital because of having to spend the money on the film. I have it set up in the trask unit. And have got some awesome pic's on it. Last roll I got three different bulls, One buck, and a bear. In 8 days. I will purchase another but it will be a digital camera.

Yeah, I figure going digital and forking out a few more bucks would be the best way to go. This SD card that I have it in now took over 150 pictures within 3 days in the back yard with the dogs running around before I cleared the memory card. I also have two rechargable 6v batteries. Along with an extra memory card, each time I go up, I'll just change out the memory card and battery and I'll be good to go! (that way, the camera will never leave the mountains) Me and my buddy took it up yesterday and hiked up to the top (just under 6,100 foot mark) and put it in the spot where I got my elk last year. The trail was HEAVILY used recently as we found tons of fresh sign as it rained that morning. (I even found a great rub on a tree from last year that wasn't there before I tagged out last year) I'm going to go back up the weekend of June 4th to check it and probably move it to a new spot. (I've got a lot of spots in mind between now and the end of August) Being a full three weeks, between now and then, that's another reason why I think I'll like digital. Mine's a Moultrie Feeder and the battery is supposed to last around 30 days given that it is set on the standard settings. This is my first time with this so I'm really hoping that everything works right! If it does, I've got a great feeling that I might get a few pics!
