If you like to shoot a lot or have several guns you want to load for, reloading will be cheaper in the long run. I'm really just now getting into it good, and so far I only reload for my .270. I think I spent about $500 give or take for all my reloading gear, a few hundred bullets, 3 pounds of powder, a case of primers, and 200 pieces of once-fired brass. I've shot about 175 bullets in the last month, so if you consider everything I've spent it has cost me about $2.86 average every time I've pull the trigger so far. I plan to shoot another 20-30 this weekend, which will take me down to the $2.50/shot average. If you only take into account the cost of the primers, brass, bullets, and powder, it's about $.29/shot.
By the time I get my .30-06 dies and shoot another 200 rounds I'll be spending about $1/shot (including all my gear), which is on par with factory ammo. However, with reloading you have the potential to control every variable of each shot, and if your gun is capable and you take your time it can shoot better than even the best factory ammo. Last weekend I found a honey of a load for my .270 that shoots inside 1/2 @ 100 yards. No it isn't some fancy bolt action Remington or Kimber, it's a NEF .270 Handi-Rifle single shot

The whole setup cost me under $450, scope and gun both.
So yes, you can save money by reloading. In fact, I've spent less on all my reloading stuff and my .270 both than what some guys spend on just a gun or scope, and I can outshoot most of 'em all day! 0 15663 0 0 0 0

make sure you store them in a dry palce or they will get mold on them 0 15802 0 0 0 0

119273 0 956 Rod 0 1 209.240.205.62 1108653887 0 My feelings on the Jellyhead are the same as yours, I was disappointed with it. I also shoot an 870 (Express Magnum 12 ga.) and the Jellyhead did not pattern well in my gun, using two different loads - 3 Remington Hevi-Shot #5's and 3 Winchester copper plated lead #6's. The patterns with Hevi-Shot were not that great, the patterns with the copper plated lead were absolutely terrible. Both of these loads pattern great thru the Undertaker I've been using for the past four years, and I have killed turkeys with each of them.
For now, I plan to keep using my Undertaker. At some point in the future I might try some different ammo thru my Jellyhead. But for now it's easier to just keep using my Undertaker since I know it works well, rather than go out and buy a bunch of different turkey loads to try in the Jellyhead, which may or may not work. At least my Jellyhead was a Christmas gift, so I didn't waste $40 out of my own pocket on it.
The Jellyhead is the only Primos product I can ever remember being unhappy with. 0 15841 0 0 0 0

119275 0 2077 WVBowhunter 1 1 63.100.168.50 1108654018 0 As the question is written it is hard to answer. I hunt for different reasons at different times in different areas. I passed on a small mule deer in Colorado this year because I didn't want to harvest a small buck and have to deal with getting the meat home just to say I got a mule deer. I only got 3 does this year in WV. First year in a very, very long time that I didn't take a buck. Passed up on three or four decent bucks but I was looking for Mr. Big and already had meat. Sometimes I hunt just to hunt.
I would have to disagree with you when you say if we had to wait on deer with X amount of points or to be so old that we would never get any deer in WV. I've had 8 heads mounted since I started hunting, 6 of those are bow kills with the biggest being 154 P&Y. I also have 10 to 15 racks in the outbuilding that are what I call decent size. Some 8 points 15 to 18 inches wide. I also have spikes and 4-points and 6-points. I agree with what others have said here, if it is legal and you want to kill it, that's your business. I have been just as proud to take a nice doe as I have a decent buck. It's all in the hunt.
One thing is for sure, if we kill all the small bucks we see then they will never grow up to be the big 10 or 12 point buck that we all dream of. I'm not trying to tell you how to run your hunting club but if you would have some restrictions on sizes and numbers and put out food plots and minerals and all the members followed the rules in a few years you would see the difference.
Just my 2 cents worth.
Happy hunting, 0 15816 0 0 0 0

119277 0 956 Rod 0 1 209.240.205.62 1108654191 0 Yes, I have one of those also. It was the first box call I ever bought when I started turkey hunting. I guess it's designed that way because mine sounds the same as you described. I didn't like how it sounded, only used it my first turkey season. It's been in the closet ever since. 0 15840 0 0 0 0
119278 0 3104 whitehead 1 1 132.79.13.10 1108654355 0 I'm from Dierks High School(class of 97). We got a new coach about 4 or 5 years ago that has turned our program around. We finished 11-1 this year. We were beaten in the second round of the playoffs to an annual powerhouse by 8 points. We run a pro-I on offense and a 4-3 slide defense. 3 Seniors from last year will be playing college this year. 0 15718 0 0 0 0

If you are looking for a top of the line black bear hunt I would recommend going to Brithish Columbia. There are some huge bears there and the quality of the hunts are great. One other person to look into is Jim Shockeys Vancover Island Bear Camps. His clients have had great things to say about his operation. If you want to check his opperation out go to his website: www. Jimshockey.com and click on the bear hunts below. I feel you would have a better chance of getting big bear up there than you might get here in the states. If you have any other questions let me know and I will try and find you whatever you are looking for.

119280 0 956 Rod 0 1 209.240.205.62 1108654857 0 Sorry to hear about that man. Glad you didn't get hurt, that's the main thing. Talk to your insurance agent about it, but I would think you would have some money coming one way or the other. If the kid didn't have insurance (not sure about your state but it's the law here, you must have it), what might happen is your insurance will take care of it for you, and then sue the other driver or his parents to recover that money. 0 15837 0 0 0 0
