Had one answering the calls early Saturday, but he went the other way. I think he was with hens.

Last Saturday my wife missed one at 35 yards. We were hunting together in a pop up blind. I found out she was not holding the stock to her cheek and looking down the barrell.
She was holding it down and shot over the bird. We are going again this SAT. She is ready and I am glad she is hooked on Turkey Hunting. I live in Northeastern NC. The bird numbers seem a little lower and I think coyotes are too blame. I hope new game laws ight help us control this predator by killing them at night. We will see. Happy hunting to everyone and enoy what God has given us. |

My hunting buddy and I left here Sunday, April 15th and returned Friday...Had a great week down east...We called in 9 birds within range and killed 3, he wanted to save a tag so he didn't have to stop hunting...
Best beard was 11 inches, also had a three bearded turkey with longest 10 inches, third bird was about 10 1/2...Great week, saw birds every hunt and I also saw 2 bears on consecutive days... |

What part of NC are you from Hawkeye? I'm about an hour east of Asheville. -------------------- |

I live near Greensboro but grew up down east, near Ahoskie...
We have some family farms we hunt and a cabin on one of them...I hunt around here but take a few trips down home when I can get away... |
