Yep, looks like an old pipe vise to me, I've got one thats almost the same but a bit newer, I think. Used for hand threadin metal pipes, now they use power ones

I think it might be a support that attaches to a metal lathe, for when you're machining a piece of long bar.

Jimmy you might want to go back to December of 2010, and look at the remodel job i did on the old part of my house, 800 sq feet total remodel by myself in less then 2 months. Ya know, i would take you Elk hunting with me, BUT, i don't want to listen to you whine for 2 weeks how tired you are .Kevin -------------------- Never argue with a Idiot, They will bring you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

I have to ask. Is this old barn wood able to be reused at all? I know out here in CO they will pay BIG BIG bucks for old barn wood. They use it to make picture frames or remodel the inside of the house with. Here is an ad off of craigslist. I would hate for you to just burn up all that money.
