Bats are my specialty! I use deer to attract my bats to their homes and the deer help keep them close by! See Pic included!! LOL

If you know of an area that bats inhabit you can get some of their droppings and smear them on the bottom of the opening. They will be attracted by the scent. Have the box facing south for the warmth and paint it black. If you want to research them type in BATS or Bat conservation on your computer. You can also order some scent on line that is used to get bat colonies started in bat houses. tongue.gif

I just put up a bat house that I built. Does anybody have any tips to attract them to the house? Or just hope they find it on their own?

I just saw this on an Illinois website I follow. Illinois just had there first rabid bat of the season.

We used to throw old tied socks full of rocks in the air and catch brown bats. They would dive bomb at them, get thier little hooks caught, and fall to the ground...then we would hit em with a ball bat. The things poor redneck kids do for fun smile.gif

I watched my Grandpa shoot one round and drop one with his Browning A5 20ga when I was about 10 years old.
