Thanks for posting Unit!
Had a sow with 9 little ones come in around 9:30 last night Never could get a clear shot on her Picked out the other sow and rolled her at 45 yards She got up and ran 15 yards and dropped Hunted till 11 pm then got down and loaded her up The remington 220 grain corlocs definitely do the job on bigger pigs, had to cut both front shoulders off and throw them away In stand now, sun has set, heard a pig grunt way off in a cutover. Hopefully it shows up right after dark Fresh batteries in night scope Man I love this! 5 mph breeze, really cool temps Me and 2 buddies are the only ones on this 1000 acres Update to follow....... -------------------- No plants, trees, or animals were harmed in the transmission of this electronic file. Really cool temps...... in the 60's at night with a light wind!
Hunted from a box stand last night. Hand held night vision monacle messed up so I had to raise my rifle every now and then to look around. At 10 PM I had two at the feeder. I lit up the scope, then got on one. A boar about 140 lbs. Had rise up out of the chair to get on him good with scope and the old office chair went "padunk-POP" he took aff and I shot him on the run. He got across foodplot into a cutover. At 11 I got down and found where he went in on an old 4 wheeler trail then hit a tunnel in a briar patch. Nice........... my buddy showed up and shined the light through the briar tunnel and I worked my way around it through the thicket. I was getting eat up by mosquitos and blackberry briars. Picked up steady blood trail. He went across a little opening then hit an impeneatrable wall of briars. I could smell him dead up in there, but could not get to him. So thick in there I could only see about 10 feet with a flashlight. Crawled out and went to camp to celebrate number 2 dead! He would not have been fit to eat as he had that bad boar stink (kinda like Unit) But he would have made a good photo OP. Plenty more out there. Wont hunt them again for a few weeks, fly to KC next sunday for company annual meetings, then come back and work 2 days then head to Texas to turkey hunt for a week. -------------------- No plants, trees, or animals were harmed in the transmission of this electronic file.
