Went and pulled 4 stands today, did some post-season scouting....boy are the most heavily used trails extremely visible right now......easy to tell the preferred route's.......

Planned on doing some shed hunting, looked a little, but as we were pulling into the property, five deer crossed the road about 60 yards in front of us......2 were bucks sporting headgear.....guess I'll have to wait a couple more weeks......

Yea, I pulled a few stands a couple weeks ago. Still shed less, even though not seein any head gear in fields in evenings. Little strange. Think the neighbor has walked the property already. mad.gif

Anybody else finding any sheds?

Give a man a deer, he’ll eat for a day. Teach him to be a bowhunter, will feed his family for ever!!!!

I spent most of my life hunting, the rest I have wasted.

Thats why I loath the post season, you always seem to stumble on to a great spot and you ask yourself "Why didn't I hunt here in November?"

I couldn't buy a shed if I wanted to around here.

That's cool. I was out this past Saturday scouting around. Boys had their bb guns, and a way we go! Trails are easier to find now! Gotta love it wink.gif

Yeah this time of the year is the best when it comes to stand work. All my stands have been either moved or re-situated for next year. I leave them year round but check all the ratchet straps and mounting areas several times a year just to make sure they are still safe. I absolutly hate summer time with a passion mad.gif and setting stands up then for me is a misserable experience. Most of it stems from having worked in a nuclear hot autobody shop for the past 15 years. I spend 50 hours a week sweating and refuse to do it on my off time lol.

Its taken me about 4 years to figure out the best places and I normally have to move a stand or two every year but I am finaly getting my stands to areas that I can leave them and have fairly good results from year to year. Just gota keep em locked up and bolted together dry.gif

Good luck shed hunting Vance.. I have went a lot and my mind is telling me to keep looking but my hip and back are telling me different. Thats how you find em though, gota put down some boot leather

That's what we did Kyle, the boys took the bb guns and a buddy of theirs, we had a good time, weather was great!

I'm gonna try to go next week one day to look for sheds and a couple new stand sites.
