I called up this bird for my cousin this morning... He came in like we had him on a string! So far so good considering season has only been open 4 days and we got 2 birds down... We went yesterday morning to another place and had a gobbler within 60 yards but he had a bunch of hens with him and they took him away... I love it when a plan comes together!!

I will get the story up as soon as I can. I can not get on the site from work any more so it's tough on my phone. Let's just say this. Henned up is not even the word for it. When I shot this bird this was the count. 6 longbeards and 2 hens. Needless to say She was pissed when I started doing everything She done. Story soon boys. Oh yeah went back Friday and almost got another one for a friend but Thanks to the Hen and a Copperhead we got busted. Mainly the Copperhead

Well since I can not get to the website from work anymore I will have to catch up now.

Opening Day killed the one I scored. (See scoreboeard for pictures)
Next day killed and identical one in the same place. (Pictures didn't come out)
Tuesday the 27th called one in for a buddy of mine.

Thursday the 29th (yesterday)
Went to my Honey Hole and listened at daylight. Ho gobbled a couple of hundreds yards way across a field and on the side of the hill so I cut the distance and listened again. He was Gobblinhis head off so I moved to where i wanted to be about another 20 or 30 yards and sat down. He Gobbled again so I called and he Double Gobbbled. I turned my head away and soft called to lure him in and he Double Gobbled again. I did not make another call because in a minute he was right there 35 yards away Gobblin and Struttin. I had to wait on him to give me a clear shot but I shot him right there at 35 yards at 6:35. You talking about calling one straight from the roost. Here is the picture of him. I accidentally pulled half his beard off stretching his neck but he had about 9 1/2 inch beard and 3/4 inch spurs. Nice 2 year old Volunteer we like to call em.
