There are lots of hybrids around Melvern lake as well. There isn't a lot of pressure there but the birds are a little hard to hunt.

If your looking to hit Tennessee, and Kentucky. You could hunt Daniel Boone National Forest in Kentucky, and Big South Fork in Tennessee. They join each other. You could hunt two states in one day.

I have hunted 4 of the states you mentioned, TX, KS, OK and TN.. Cheap hunts can be found in all but TX for the most part..
The GF and I will be hitting the road for two weeks straight on a budget to WY, SD, NE and MT.. Might take a shorter trip to KY for a weekend. -------------------- Hooks Custom Calls Pro Staffer

My cousin lives at lebo ks and works in Reading Ks. he has invited me up in the past to deer hunt. On the cattle ranch he works on. He does not hunt so I wasn't sure about the area. I think that is right on the nw eadge of malvern lake. Are you fermilar with that general area. -------------------- |

Milford has a lot of turkeys. I killed my very first turkey ever there. There are probably some areas near Tuttle Creek that have good turkeys too. I know that Pomona Lake and Hillsdale Lake also have lots of ground with good tukreys. Might be a bit more crowded than Milford though depending on what days you come. Check the hunting atlases on the KDWP and Army Corp of Engineers sites and they will show you all the places with public hunting. Theres probably even some places further south and east that have good turkeys. Melvern probably has good birds too. If you go to Milford try these spots for sure. http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u141/ca...ter/milford.jpg Have you ever hunted around overbrook kansas I'm headed there opening day. |
