Has anyone on here ever been to the Oglala National Grasslands in NW Nebraska to hunt proghorn? Starting to plan a trip for september now and was wondering if anyone had any luck. We are chasing them with are bows so i know its not going to be easy but that makes it that much better!

Have you considered driving a extra 100 miles to Wyoming ?, and getting into some awesome speed goat hunting.

is the wyoming a OTC tag? reason we are thinking nebraska is because its a OTC tag for only 155.50.

They are not over the counter, but there is usually some left over tags on the east side of the state. Applications are not due until March 15th, so you still have time to apply. If you don't draw, you can still go to NB.

ya thats not a bad idea, its alittle more pricey of a tag but if the oppurtunity to take a speed goat with my bow is better then its worth it. how is the speed goat hunting on the east side of the state?

When i go to Montana elk hunting, i go across the NE corner of WY on 90 thru Gillette and Buffalo and we see 1000s of them right from the highway, i think most of the east side of the State is that way, just call WY fish and game and they will tell you for sure.

Wyoming may cost you a little more money, But you will be glad that you spent it, your odds of getting a speed goat, will go up 100%.

You run into alot of private land in eastern WY. You can buy your way onto most of it if need be.
