And he is just across the lake from me,and I would love too shoot one myself! What can I say? Even a blind squirrel finds a nut very now and then. I killed another one last year traveling with a large group of lessers, the passed over us and we noticed one goose was exceptionally smaller than the rest. They kept going by as if nothing was going to happen but heavy flagging and come back calls turned around one goose. It turned out to be the cackler and he met a few barking 12 gauges as he back-peddled into the kill hole. -------------------- |

Awesome!..I knocked bufflehead off my list the other day. They're not the smartest birds are they? Killed one today that I think I was doing it a favor! -------------------- Jared

I've shot mallards, green WT, blue WT, wigeon, pintails, gadwall, black ducks, woodies, hooded mergansers, mergansers, blue bills, ring necks, spoonbills, Canadian geese, and specks. I'd like to hit ND again on as the IN seasons have been a bust for 2 years in a row. that's usually where we get such good variety!

Never been duck hunting before. Not to many waterfowlers here in central Iowa that I know. On one of the propertys I hunt, there is about 30-40 woodies that are there almost everyday and a few mallards. Would love to try hunting some ducks and geese. Just one more thing to hunt.

I'll trade a wood duck drake for a wigeon..lol..good luck to all of you ..on the one you're after! Randy, Sorry to tell you but woodies are so common up here it is boring too shoot them! Anytime you want to come up I will take you too some nice little wooded ponds I have blinds on and I will let you shoot all the woodies you want! We even shoot them in corn fields over goose decoys! http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm257/p...INGOCT20007.jpg This post has been edited by peter/pmr: Jan 26 2012, 09:31 PM -------------------- |
