Been doing a ton of hunting and have had several good hunts. Here are some pics from the last week.
Limit of geese http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d179/ada...11/DSC01206.jpg This is the day before we shot the limit in the pic above. Hunting standing corn next to fresh wheat. First flock landed just outta range. We were gonna walk them outta the field when the parade started. In no time there were 250+ right in front of us. Most just outta range, but we opted to hunt smart and let them go as not to educate them all. Paid off, first flock in, limit the next morning. http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d179/ada...11/DSC01194.jpg Diver duck hunt-seen 5000 just too calm and no movement unless we were under power http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d179/ada...11/DSC01254.jpg http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d179/ada...11/DSC01253.jpg http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d179/ada...11/DSC01251.jpg http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d179/ada...11/DSC01250.jpg Some puddler hunts(each pic a different hunt) http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d179/ada...11/DSC01247.jpg http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d179/ada...11/DSC01272.jpg http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d179/ada...11/DSC01268.jpg http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d179/ada...11/DSC01264.jpg http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d179/ada...11/DSC01289.jpg Coyote i got goose hunting http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d179/ada...11/DSC01260.jpg This post has been edited by A-Bomb: Oct 17 2011, 05:36 PM -------------------- Good Luck huntin'...Adam

Awesome job buddy! Looks like you're getting some mallards with some decent color too. What's in there just mallards and widgeon??? I finally got a pretty drake a couple days ago. First one of the year without any grey on the head....shot one that was with it that you could barely tell was a drake. Can't wait till they all look good! And can't wait for the goose migration. I've pretty well educated the resident flocks LOL.

Our ducks have consisted mostly of mallards, with wigeon and pintail follwing followed by gadwall and teal. Shot more mallards early this year than i can remember. I think its because of that super cold weather we had in September that gave us a big push of birds. Tradeoff was the teal and the woodies however. Mallards are all mixed up. Some have decent color, others have hardly any at all. Right now we are covered up in geese. I mean thousands. Kicker has been getting in a field theyre using. I have some fields that have good potential, just need to get the birds in there...be patient, theyre on their way..Snow in canada this week. Its gonna be on like donkey kong....plus, rain and 30 mph wind tomorrow...booyah!

yep i hear ya. I hardly ever decoy...just jump shoot since I have so much public land. With that said I've got an invite to go to a field about an hour and a half away for a whole weekend if I want. And I have figured out right where the geese want to be on a lake that's close to me and when they're flying in. I should've went and tried to decoy them this morning...but didn't. It's going to be a good November

You should definitely go and get in on the layout hunting for geese if you can. Its hard to describe but there are few better things than a flock of Canada geese bowed up feet down back pedaling a few yards in front of your layout. Its very enjoyable. Anyone who has never done it the right way is truly missing out. So, take the bull by the horns next time you get an opportunity.
