I don't run coon dogs anymore, but when I did to start a new pup I would get them running and treeing squirrells. Then I would live trap some coons and work with them on a caged coon along with a dead coon by dragging it around. Then I would work my way up by releasing the coons and letting the dog run them in the daylight, all the way to running them at night. That may not be the best way but it is a way and I had luck with it. If I had a dog that had a problem running anything other then coons. I would buy a collar that you can put scent soaked waffers into the collar of the animal it likes to run. This would get the dog used to the smell and drown it out, he would be less likely to run that animal later. It would work most of the time, but not all of the time. Of course nothing is better than an old fashioned switch whippin'.

The dogs are trained to change their behavior so that they can stay in the human society. We have to take care of them with love and affections. It will learn number of commands easily. Also we can ask the trainer to train it or do it by ourselves. We have to collect different dog training tips from different dog training portals.

I'm not up on hound training, I'm more of a retriever guy, but from my understanding they do it naturally, you just have to promote it.
