Got back last night from my Nebraska trip. Turned out to be a fantastic trip. We hunted two days, and saw more birds, than I have ever seen. The farmer said the bird numbers were down, so I can't even imagine what it would be like on a normal year. I normally hunt a differnt part of his farm, but there was deffinatley more birds on this part. We were hunting mostly shelter belts between cut corn, cut sunflower, and crp. The first day we saw somewhere around 800 pheasants, and the second day we saw somwhere between 300-400 birds. It was amazing. My pointer cut her face on a barbed wire fence on the first day, so she had to sit the bench on the second day. All in all it was an amazing trip.

Annual is like 80 bucks I think, but I always do a 2 day license which is 36 bucks.

Trent,
There is some decent public land out neat sydney. Let me know when you head that direction, maybe we could all get together and try to put up some birds. I have access to a bunch of private, that I might be able to get us on. Let me know what you think, and good luck training.

Sounds like a plan coming together here! As long as you boys stick around the site till next year it sounds like an awesome time to me! I'm gonna be a trainin' fool here shortly. Just takin' it one step at a time for now. Got him playing fetch (when he wants) and all but house trained. He knows where to go and knows not to go in the house he just likes to be stubborn and try to sneak a quick pee passed me every once in a while. He already points on his little duck toy I bought him. It's been pretty neat seeing all his instincts come out that he doesn't even know he has. I'll have him ready by next year smile.gif . He may not be finely tuned but he'll be able to hunt!

Hey sound like your on the right track. Have fun training. It never gets old watching them learn and hunt. My pointer still surprizes me, everytime we go out. Keep it up.
