Has anyone heard that deer go crazy over vanilla extract. Just curious. Someone told me this and would rather not waste my time if it does nothing. Any opinions on this?

I used it last year. I didn't have much luck with it. I am going scent free as possible this year.

Been using it for years. My Dad told me about it but he just said it would cover your sent but now they say it will attract them. I guess I don't know if it will attract them but I still see deer when I'm useing it.

Im going to try it this year for the first time.. I had a friend tell me that his dad said that it works for attracting deer.. It shouldnt hurt to try it and see what happens.. I may put some on the protein block and see what they do on my trail cam..

Never tried it, can't say im gonna either, this year is as scent free as possible, mobility to move, and wind. oh and also height and cover.

To add to that I can tell you that about 6 years ago I used my wifes perfume, for gun season. I seen more that morning then I ever have on a single hunt. I think i counted like 26 in about 3 hours. mainly does. But.......

I used it years ago but have things that work better now. I used it for bear and it is a sweet additive to bland stuff like bread and corn. It has a scent that carries good and will not scare them. If there is alot of food in the area it wont work. I found it helped after the snow came and the food was covered. It wont hurt on a bait pile to attract them but once they are comeing it wont be needed. You will get bear to come to it for sure. wink.gif

For deer I found it to be regional down here in LA.

Northern swamp areas deer will follow your footsteps if you put it on your boots.

If you have bears in the area, be careful, one followed my buddys footstep to his tree, then climbed the tree after him.

He ruined a 4 week old old bow beating the bear in the head till it left.
