I just put in for a Montana deer tag for the 2010 season and was wandering what weight bullet you use. I have a load for my 280 rem with a 140 gr sierra gameking at 2840 fps and feel that should do the job,It worked great on a whitetail and a 225 lb hog I took on a hunt in Georgia earlier this year.

I may work up a load with a 150 gr gameking for extra measure.

I use 130 grain HSM Berger bullets in my .270, & they have performed flawlessly on every kind of game MT has to offer. Good Luck.

I have been shooting a lot this summer using Winchester CX2 130 grain out of my Browning. 270. I really like the accuracy so far.

I really feel strongly that 100 gr. 3 blade spitfire is the only bullet you'll need...

good luck!!!

Just changed to the premier Winchester load at 150 grains. The 130 was great out to 200 but awful past that. I think they are called xp3. They are salty but dang...they are impressive!

Are you hunting deer in Grizz country or what!! laugh.gif laugh.gif . That or you like to quarter them without using a knife! Bet they don't run far. tongue.gif Good luck and God bless. smile.gif

My choices would be:

100 gr. Ramcat broadhead (Quest Smoke)

100 gr. interbond (.243 Win)

140 gr. Berger (6.5x55)

That 140 gr. Sierra outta that .280 will knock them flat. wink.gif

300 RUM...bout the norm and the best bullet out of that gun for accuracy

next gun is a 338-378 weatherby shooting 300gr sierras
