I had a couple people tell me about old timers using cut shotgun shells as a wood duck call. They cut it like a half moon and stick the metal end in their mouth. Just wondering if any you guys knew about it or how to cut it 'exactly'? Supposed to be the best wood duck call ever that's why I wanted to find out about it. Any suggestions or anybody knowing about it let me know. Thanks

Never heard of it but I,m sure it will work. A lot of old school methods are still tried and

If an "old timer" says it works I am the first person in line to give it a try! Not a single person on here or that has ever hunted knows what they know all on their own trials and tribulations! I feel it safe to say that the best hunters in the world are the ones that were the best listeners. I am headed out in the morning to hunt ducks in the timber with my great uncle who is 80 yrs old and has hunted his entire walking talking life. I plan on being a sponge, trying to soak up every bit of "old timer" knowledge I can! Wish I had a recorder to put in my pocket because guys like that have forgotten more about hunting than the best in the industry can wish to learn!

It's 4a.m., temperature is in the mid thirties with a steady drizzle, and you are going to be laying in a muddy rice field until lunch but only after all the work is done. PERFECT!!!

the way i've heard of doing it, is you need a 12 gauge and a 20 gauge shell casing, you pop the primers out of both, then trim down the colored part untill theres about an inch left, then the 20 gauge shell will fit in the 12 gauge like a glove, and the holes will line up, you blow through one side and it whistles, i don't know if this is what you're talking about, but i did it and it works,
