Anyone else gonna be doing any dove hunting this year?? We have a dandy sunflower field planted and the doves are everywhere! Two more weeks until I get all the shooting out of my system

Here in IL (near st. Louis, MO) we have good hunting for about 3 weeks or until the first cool front or thunderstorms. What is the dove hunting like in the south? How long does your season and good shooting last?

Here in OK the first two weeks of Sept. are usually the best. There's still a few birds around clear into Oct., but it's kind of like the guys up north are saying. First rainy cold front that comes through seems to send the bulk of them down to Texas and Mexico. The sound of guns blasting all across the countryside opening weekend signals the start of the hunting season for everyone. I'm ready!
